Second Edition
Second Edition
Due to some unforeseen challenges, the 2nd Edition of the Imagine Cup took place during the summer of 2024. Given the success of the first edition, we knew Imagine Cup 2024 had to be bigger and better. That is why for the second edition, we expanded from 8 teams to 12 and from 96 to 120 athletes. Due to a joint effort by founders and sponsors we were not only able to provide teams with regular expenses such as field rent, referee and hydration, but also uniforms and lunch for every participant. To allow the event to flow in a more efficient manner, we organized a Managerial Conference two days before the event, in which all tournament clarifications were made with managers.
The participating teams were:
- Academia Cristiana de Futbol
- Academia Los Lobos
- FC Rav Boy
- Academia El Crucero
- CD El Chante
- Galaxy Sur
- Deportivo Sur
- ACG Academy
- Athletic Argiro
- FC La Liga
- Colegio Fidel Coloma
- Academia de Futbol Infantil FFN
Specifics:
The games were made up of two halves of 20 minutes each, with a 5 minute halftime break. Teams could only field a maximum of 6 players at the same time, including a goalie, however an additional 4 players could be on the bench. The league was exclusively for athletes under 18 years of age, directors conducted a thorough investigation of each team to guarantee age limits were respected.
Teams were divided into 4 groups of 4, after a quick group stage round in which each team faced all the other team’s within their groups, the four leaders of each group qualified to the knockout stages (Semifinals onwards).
